Uniqueness
“You are a bit strange Crocker.” This is nice phrasing, most times there are a few additives thrown in not suitable for young ears or ladies. My response is somewhat along the lines … “you have a real knack for stating the obvious, so … what’s your point?” This is usually enough to end the assessment. I blame my eccentricity on being born left-handed and forced into being right-handed. Not only do I not blend into the herd, but I take delight in my uniqueness.
One way I am different is in the way I see things. I am best known for my black and white personality photography, something I have no problem with, but I don’t think of myself as a one-trick pony. So, to break out of the box, so to speak, I present a selection of my hood art photography.
None of this collection was shot in a studio, all were shot in the field as I found it. I did not move any of the cars or style a single shot. These images are the product of previsualizing the end product before taking the photo. One technique I employed was finding a reflection in the background and working it into the photo. Yes, they are Photoshopped. I believe in using all the tools at my disposal to help showcase my uniqueness.
Hope you enjoy.
